Le Bulletin - May 2014
It’s hard to believe the island’s high-season has concluded! Merci to all who trusted their St. Barth vacation to us and welcome to all the clients who are arriving now to take advantage of Value Season pricing. They will see our U.S team out-and-about and busy with their bi-annual inspection trip.
It is with bitter-sweet feelings that my husband Steve and I enjoyed our last dinner at the Wall House. This harbor side restaurant has been a perennial island favorite. We bid au revoir to owners Bernard and his son Julien Tatin.
I hope to see you on the island.

Saving money is great reason for renting a villa in Value Season (April 15 – December 14) but here’s a week’s worth of other reasons to vacation in a villa – great all year round – but isn’t doing it all for less money so much nicer?
- Flexibility: Sleep in, cook in, enjoy a mid-night raid of the fridge. It’s your villa!
- Candlit suppers under the stars: Our Drive, Dine & Relax package features a private chef to prepare and serve dinner. See the list of participating villas.
- Privacy: And yes, that does mean skinny-dipping in your own pool.
- Up the romance factor: Think about an in-villa couple’s massage.
- Get your grill master on, poolside: Mahi-Mahi burgers anyone?
- Affordability: Share the villa, share the expenses and you will have euros galore to spend in all those chic duty free boutiques and on those fabulous French wines.
- Picnic fixings: You’ll have the ability to pack beach picnics – just get your freshly baked baguette at a nearby boulangerie. Enjoy!
Hotels of St. Barth
Les Soldes (translation: The Sales!) – are on through June 6 and that means savings and bargains in St. Barth’s boutiques. If you have an upcoming trip planned, save a day for shopping!
As much as we will miss our friends Bernard and Julien Tatin at the helm of the Wall House we are eager to see what the new owners have in store for us. We’ll keep you posted.
Island restaurateur Xavier Pignet has changed things up at Gustav Gustavia and burgers are now the specialty and people watching is always on the menu. Pignet’s Table de Jules in Lorient is now closed.
Hotel Le Toiny’s Le Gaïac restaurant will not be serving lunch through the summer however their famous Sunday "Brunch du Toiny" will be served – and enjoyed. Reservations strongly recommended and we’d be pleased to assist.

We had a wonderful breakfast at Le Repaire and of course, croissants from La Boulangerie. A nice surprise was the bar-b que ribs and chicken from Le Bouchon. We enjoyed several take home dinners with our gorgeous view from the veranda at Diaco.

We had another wonderful stay on St. Barth’s this past April 25-30. The concierge service was exemplary and especially in booking a last minute catamaran snorkel trip for us. It was a wonderful day and we look forward to doing this again, soon.
