Villa La Plage

Happy Summer! Last week I made one of my seasonal zip trips from Cape Cod to St. Barth, joined by our marketing consultant Connie Walsh. Our mission included the content planning for St. Barth Properties’ annual publication Live Your Dream®, so lots of interviews and meetings. We were delighted to spend the first official day of summer on the island. And, since it was a Saturday, we stole a few hours to enjoy St. Jean Beach. Our stay included three nights at the gorgeous beachfront Hotel Taïwana to inspect its newly refurbished rooms, and then we settled into Villa Everest where the warm summer sun naturally heated the pool. Summer on St. Barth is indeed delightful. Contact us to see for yourself! This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

I hope to see you on the island!

Villas of St. Barth

We are thrilled to let you know that Villa La Plage is now a 7 bedroom estate.

Villa La Plage sits right on beautiful Lorient Beach with a private access gate just for the use of La Plage’s guests. This luxurious estate, ensconced on a three-quarter acre, boasts a gorgeous, gigantic semi-circle–shaped swimming pool and a sprawling deck with space galore for sunbathers, shade-seekers and alfresco diners. The villa’s striking living room spans most of the ocean-facing frontage, and the magnificent view is framed by towering coconut trees. In the rear, there’s a delightful courtyard-like terrace. The kitchen is chef-worthy, and there is a poolside gas BBQ grill. The five luxurious air-conditioned bedrooms (French king beds) all have spacious and sumptuous en suite baths, dressing areas, private terraces, all with the sound of the surf. The estate includes a separate bungalow called the Beach House. It has a kitchen, living room and two en suite (queen) bedrooms. Its private deck is delightful for sunning, relaxing or dining alfresco. The Beach House is ideal for teens or staff.

Hotels of St. Barth

We are excited to announce we will soon have a new partner in our hotel collection: Le Barthélemy Hotel & Spa. Currently under construction, this luxurious new property is located on the lagoon of Grand Cul de Sac. The chic accommodations vary in size and style in the 50+ suites. Some have a garden, swimming pool, terrace and the ability to interconnect. A gourmet seaside restaurant, with a specially designed menu, a spa featuring Crème de la Mer treatments, and a Kids Club are just a few of the things that we know will tempt our clients. Le Barthélemy is scheduled to open mid-to-late February 2015. For more information, simply contact one of our hotel specialists via email This email address is being protected from spambots. St. Barth Properties News

After 25 years of creating dream vacations, we are all grown up now, and we’ve changed our annual kick-off-the-season Beachside Bash to an elegant Soirée. Our venue, the Hotel Taïwana’s seaside Casa Flamands, will be transformed for the evening – November 14, 2014. Cocktails and creative canapés will be followed by a specially designed three-course dinner, set up in food stations to maximize mingling and, of course, music and dancing under the stars. We are pleased to invite all our clients on the island at this time. Mark your calendars, book your vacation and join us!

SBP team members on the island last month included Villa & Hotel Specialists Julie Nally and Kathy Schlitzer and Concierge Julia Hurd. Julia regularly arranges transportation assistance for clients through Easy Way VIP Service. She happily reported they were more than up to the task in escorting Kathy and her, our very own VIPs, from the airport in St. Maarten to the ferry. They split the week’s stay between the Taïwana Hotel, in its luxurious 2 bedroom Jade Suite, with just enough time for a dip in the suite’s private pool, and the gorgeous Villa Méli Mélo. Julia’s top restaurant recommendation: the new Me Gusta on the harbor – Julia insists you try the roasted red peppers stuffed with goat cheese. If you are planning on dining in, visit the fish market at L’Oasis, a grocery store in Lorient. Then fire up the grill! Read Kathy’s trip report and villa update posted on Peg’s Blog. Thank you, ladies!

Island News

St. Barth Summer Sessions – St. Barth’s sixth annual music festival will take place August 4-16. Thirteen lucky days, ten venues (bars and restaurants) and twenty concerts will have the island hopping, and of course we all know, St. Barth Rocks!

Famed international chef (and St. Barth devotee) Jean-Georges Vongerichten will be the ambassador of the island’s 1st annual culinary festival which will debut for the public on October 31. A preview festival was held last year, and the committee is building on that success to create a spectacular four-day event that will include some of the leading hotels hosting visiting chefs, who will be preparing special menus with wine pairings, while local restaurants will be offering a Taste of St. Barth lunch with Creole influence plus a mixology competition for barmen. Stay tuned for more details.
