Le Bulletin January 2016
Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed the holidays with family and friends. It was an exciting Festive Season here in St. Barth, and my husband and I were delighted to share it with one of our sons, Mark, his wife and a villa-full of grandchildren. They have all come to love the island as much as we do. Mark wrote a terrific blog on his daily walks, where he got his morning exercise and a new island perspective. Take a read.
As glamorously star-studded as St. Barth is in season, it’s so nice to see all the extended families gathering to enjoy the beaches and water sports or simply out for pizza.
We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner at Le Repaire in Gustavia.
Business took me off the island for a week to the c-c-c-c-cold Northeast. As many of you know, I am a New England Patriots fan, and I took the opportunity to catch a playoff game, but I am so glad to be back enjoying all the warm aspects of St. Barth.
I hope to see you on the island!

Villas of St. Barth
We are pleased to welcome two delightful villas to our portfolio.
Hillside in Petite Saline, this spectacular five bedroom villa boasts gorgeous views. As a bonus, guests are treated to fiery sunsets, best viewed from the expansive pool terrace, with a beverage. The oversized infinity pool is lined with black tiles to keep it toasty. Himalaya’s outdoor living space includes a gazebo, a sunken deck and an expansive terrace that encompasses a covered dining area seating a dozen. The living room is comfortably furnished, and the kitchen is well equipped to handle the culinary needs of a crowd. All five bedrooms offer a water view and have French king beds and beautifully appointed en suite baths. Three, all identical, are on the main level. Two are on the lower level, on either side of a terrace with a Jacuzzi. The lower level also includes a fitness room, an adjacent kitchenette and a full bath.
Villa Fleur de Sel
Fleur de Sel
Located just minutes from Gustavia, this five bedroom villa is a stunner! If you can take your eyes off the view – water, water everywhere, sprinkled with a bevy of neighboring islands ‒ the pool will wow you. Extra-long, infinity edged and heated, it’s the focal point of an expansive deck that offers loads of outdoor living space for relaxing, shaded dining and a bar. A sleek kitchen with every culinary accoutrement has a bonus pantry/food prep area and is part of an open floor plan that encompasses indoor living and dining areas. The décor is elegant and includes pieces by renowned French designer Philippe Starck. A small air-conditioned fitness room and guest bath are also on this level.
The five en suite bedrooms are chic and fun, with each named after a designer. All have French king beds and ample closet space. The Louis Vuitton master suite is perched penthouse-style atop the villa. Its wooden floor comes from the legendary Orient Express. Glass sliders open to a private deck with a bird’s-eye view – the sunsets here are gorgeous. Ooh la la!
One of the most stunning villas in our portfolio, three bedroom Villa Mirage has taken it up a notch with chic new décor in the living room. Take a look. Did we mention Villa Mirage overlooks Gouverneur Beach and has an oversized infinity pool?
Lorient’s Oasis Market closed last month but is being renovated by its new owner, Marché U. It will reopen soon as an organic (bio) food market.
Carpe Diem – The new harbor side (La Pointe) eatery Carpe Diem Pasta & Grill is generating recensioni entusiastiche for their cuisine with an Italian flair, including fresh homemade pasta, friendly service and reasonable price point. Their burratina salad and beef ravioli with mushroom sauce are exceptional.
Le Carré ‒ Sushi lovers take note: You can now indulge your passion at Gustavia’s Le Carré. The new owners have added it to the menu. Bon!

We absolutely loved Sunrise-Sunset and would love to rent the property again. The house was gorgeous, with a great layout and the most spectacular views. It was two weeks in true paradise, and my head is still there. Thanks for all your help!
