Villas of St. Barth
We are pleased to welcome Villa Curiosité to our portfolio.
Hillside in Lurin, this contemporary and luxurious three bedroom villa enjoys a just-minutes-to-Gustavia location and a gorgeous view that takes in the outer harbor and neighboring islands. An open floor plan encompasses a sleek kitchen with bar seating and a spacious living room that opens to an expansive deck furnished to provide covered seating and alfresco dining. We love the 40-ft.-long lap pool. It’s the focal point of a terrace that, with its wet bar, is an ideal spot for guests to gather and sip a beverage, relax in the sun and, of course, take a swim. A guest bath is conveniently located nearby. Two equal-sized guest bedrooms (with French king beds) are off the living room. Their well-appointed en suite baths have both indoor and outdoor showers. The master suite (also with a French king bed and en suite bath that includes indoor and outdoor showers) is located one level up in a private bungalow. Special features include an upper deck and a Sonos sound system. The sunsets here are stunning.
Grand Cru collection – Are you looking for some extra pampering on your next villa vacation? How delicious do you think having a breakfast of fresh fruit and French pastries delivered would be? Does evening turndown service sound dreamy? We have two new additions to our exclusive Grand Cru collection.
Paying homage to Princess Grace, this uber-luxurious six bedroom villa has room enough for a royal entourage. An ooh-and-aah-worthy swimming pool – oversized and heated ‒ is privy to a panoramic vista of the sea.
A pair of lily ponds by the entrance sets a Zen-like ambience that complements the striking décor of the chic three bedroom Villa Kelly. We think the kitchen would wow even French superstar chef Jacques Pépin, and the bar cum kitchenette equipped for BBQing would make any grillmaster swoon. The extra-long heated infinity pool has a shallow end for chaise lounges, positioned to take in the stunning seascape.
Les Voiles de St. Barth regatta is in full swing this week. If you are lucky enough to be here, be sure to stop by the quai to join in the festivities.
The bi-annual Ag2r Transat set sail for St. Barth from Concarneau, Brittany on April 03, 2016. The 2-man BénéteauFigaro fleet passed the island of Madeira and the Canary Islands on its way to St. Barth on the 3,890 mile course. If you plan on being here towards the end of the month, head down to the quai to welcome each and every boat as they cross the finish line.
Attention shoppers (aren’t we all?): The dates for the island’s annual sales – Les Soldes – are set for May 7 – June 17. All the island’s chi-chi boutiques will have bargains galore.
Foodies will be delighted to hear that the dates have been set for the Taste of St. Barth – November 3-6, 2016. This celebration of French cuisine gets better each year, and November is a delightful time to visit the island.
It seems everyone’s favorite new restaurant this season is Orega, located in the old Gustavia “case” that once housed the beloved French restaurant Le Sapotillier. The space has been a few different – and disappointing ‒ restaurants since. Enter new owners Greg Ortega and his wife Kate Kova. Their concept is French-Japanese fusion, and they do it exceptionally well. A substantial renovation has restored the charm to the space and added some glam. The front room has cocktail and sushi bars, and guests have the option of dining there, under the stars in the main room, or in an elevated nook with a view of the street.
Orega fans include SBP president Peg Walsh and her husband, Steve. Her “regular table” is right by the window, and their favorite dishes are Caribbean Treasure – raviolis stuffed with local lobster and mushrooms – and Wagyu Gyoza – dumplings filled with braised Wagyu beef and mushrooms and topped with crispy katsuboshi. They raved about the lamb chops, too – imported from New Zealand ‒ and shared that the desserts were fabulous. Read Peg’s Blog for more about Orega.
I love this table on the mezzanine where Steve and I can watch the world go by while we are enjoing our dinner at Orega.
SBP president Peg Walsh has been named for the second consecutive year to consumer travel maven Wendy Perrin’s list of Trusted Travel Experts. Included in Wendy’s WOW list, Peg is in good company among travel professionals with the inside track on destinations they are passionate about. Peg shares some great information on St. Barth’s restaurants, hotels and beaches, and how to enjoy the island. A robust addendum on choosing a villa is included.

Everyone associated with St. Barth Properties is a consummate professional…my wife and I feel like your team are family members on the island in case we need anything. I probably share your website 5 or 10 times a year. I believe that there is Heaven and St. Barth. Nothing comes close to our precious island. My wife and I fell in love with St. Barth back in 2003, and this year was our 12th trip.
