Business (and the Super Bowl) took me off-island for a bit this season, and when my husband, Steve, and I returned, we settled into a charming apartment in the heart of Gustavia. We love Suite Paradis, with its harbor views and balcony overlooking the bustle. Our timing was perfect, as we were here for Carnival and had a bird’s-eye view of the parade. It’s so nice being able to stroll to my offices, the restaurants for dinner and (uh-oh) all those tempting boutiques.

Carnival in St. Barth March 05, 2019 passed directly below our apartment

We had the best view of Carnival 2019 from our balcony at Suite Paradis

I’ve been busy meeting with our hotel partners and doing villa inspections, and I recently spent a day with a journalist on assignment from Town & Country. I showed her the stunning six bedroom Villa Wake Up (located on the quiet end of Flamands Beach; guests wake up to a gorgeous view of the sea). She was dazzled!

Happily, I was able to carve out some time to relax and enjoy this beautiful island. We got together with longtime clients and good friends Kevin and Stan and booked an excursion on one of Miguel’s St. Barth Sailor Catamarans. He had the rosé well chilled, and we visited Forchue, Colombier and Shell Beach. Such fun!

We loved our full day sail to Forchue, Colombier and Shell Beach with Miguel, the St. Barth Sailor.

Our concierge team would be delighted to book the experience for you on your next visit. See our current villa specials.

I hope to see you on the island!

Villa ELA – We are pleased to welcome back Villa ELA to our rental portfolio.

Villa ELA

This exquisite compound is located directly on Flamands Beach. Eight en suite bedrooms are housed – four each – in two separate bungalows. The main house’s open floor plan incorporates a kitchen, a dining area and a chic, comfortably furnished air-conditioned living room. The décor embodies a casually elegant beach vibe. The living area opens to the deck and panoramic views of the sea. The expansive two-tiered wooden deck provides a wealth of outdoor living space. With an oversized pool and a wet bar, it’s ideal for entertaining!

The master suite, with its mahogany 4-poster king bed, sumptuous bath and sunken tub, occupies the second floor of the primary bungalow. A guest bedroom is adjacent, and two additional bedrooms are located on the lower level. All boast ocean views and the magical sound of the surf. The two-story guest bungalow offers garden views. Its four en suite bedrooms connect, which makes it ideal for families with younger children. The bungalow has its own air-conditioned living area and a kitchenette.

The villa’s features include a tennis court and its location just steps from warm blue waters. Guests can walk to beachfront restaurants for lunch or dinner.

Island News

The island is getting ready for its two signature regattas: the St. Barth Bucket (March 20-24) and Les Voiles (April 14-20). Everyone is excited.

Restaurant News

The pop-up restaurant lil’ Rock is slated for its official opening on March 20. Located on St. Jean Beach (between Eden Rock and Pearl Beach), it’s a fun spot offering food and tropical drinks, with easy access to water sports.

SBP News

SBP’s vice president, Tom Smyth, took his own advice and booked a St. Barth winter getaway with his wife, Amy, and good friends. He chose Villa L’Adrech, as he knew they would love it. And they did, from the moment the gates opened, and they saw the Jurassic Park-sized palm trees lining the driveway. Impressive.

The dramatic entry at Villa L’Adrech

L’Adrech has a wealth of special features including spacious bedrooms and a master closet-dressing room large enough to require its own AC zone! The pool, however, is the pièce de résistance. Surrounded by natural stone and lush plantings, it’s a true oasis. Oversized, free-form and heated, it boasts a beach entry and appears to blend into the sea beyond. At night it’s stunning. Tom recommends trying a Sea Bob. These high-performance electric water scooters are loads of fun, and he loved getting “up close and personal” with a flotilla of sea turtles.
