Villa Genia

Summer in St. Barth? C’est bon. Our island staff has been happily welcoming a record number of guests this month. They’re all in on the secret that St. Barth, with its delightful trade winds, gorgeous beaches and kid-pleasing pools and water sports, is just the place for a best-ever summer vacation. And with Value Season pricing in place, it’s also very affordable.

As August wanes and autumn arrives, the island takes on a special, quieter ambience that’s perfect for a more relaxing getaway – and if you have romance in mind, more than ever, this would be the time and the place. (And yes, there are still many shops and restaurants open.)

November remains one of my personal favorite island times as everyone gets ready for the upcoming season, and November has its own special events – see our Island News section.

Don’t forget, we are now halfway to Festive Season. Have you booked your accommodations yet? Have a look! Our Villa and Hotel Specialists would be please to help. Contact them at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

I hope you are enjoying your summer, and as always, I hope to see you on the island.

Villas of St. Barth

Villa Gem-Palm Springs

Villa Gem-Palm Springs is a terrific option for an extended family vacation. Five bedrooms, four of which are en suite, are located so as to provide a nice level of privacy. There’s a gourmet-worthy kitchen for cooking in, or we can arrange a private chef for poolside dining. The interior living room functions as a home cinema, and a new outdoor living room has been designed to leverage the stunning seascape and fiery sunsets. A fitness room is one of many special features. There a “location bonus”: proximity to gorgeous Gouverneur Beach.

For those looking for a quiet, romantic getaway, think about these villas: Genia, Alphane or the “ooh la la” Gouverneur Jewel. Recent clients had this to say about their stay in this intimate little villa: “Everything was perfect. We appreciated your advising us about the small size of the villa, but it was absolutely perfect for a couple in love. The location between Gustavia and Gouverneur and Grande Saline beaches is perfect too. We plan to repeat next year.”

Island News

It’s no surprise that beautiful St. Barth draws artists to its shores, and the initiatives of the growing group of the Artists of St. Barth – a nonprofit association numbering 50-plus – are generating a nice buzz. In addition to new gallery space in St. Jean, they have sponsored Pop-up Art parties in some of the hotels and offer lessons and workshop participation in painting and photography for both adults and children. Pricing begins at €25. Our concierge team has all the details and would be delighted to arrange your experience.

The dates for the sixth annual St. Barth Gourmet Festival have been set for November 6-10, 2019. If you are interested in an exceptional culinary experience that blends new riffs on classic French cuisine with Caribbean twists, mark your calendars. This year’s “godfather” is Arnaud Faye, the two-Michelin-star chef of la Chèvre d’Or in Èze (South of France). The venues will include the island’s top hotels and restaurants, and each will host a specially selected French chef to partner in the creation of a memorable dinner. The Festival will also include other fun activities. We’ll have more details soon.

On the opposite end of the foodie spectrum (but we think NO less important), everyone’s favorite burger shack – the iconic Le Select – will celebrate its 70th anniversary November 8-11, 2019. It will be quite a weekend! Book your accommodations before it’s too late: This email address is being protected from spambots. Client Accolade

Our trip was excellent! Mary and I have been to St. Barth multiple times and always wanted to show it to friends. We were lucky to bring two close friends and they had an absolute blast.… We discovered the cliffs off Shell Beach. Mary and I swam out and went jumping – something I didn’t even know existed before. It was a really cool experience. Aurélie was really helpful and gave us some quick feedback on things to do. She also told us about the St Barth’s Cup (soccer game) and advised us to get there early – it was a lifesaver, as it quickly became standing room only after we got there. It was one of those small things that you appreciate and, honestly, one of the many reasons we rent from St. Barth Properties.
